Susan Ettner is Associate Professor of General Internal Medicine
and Health Services Research in the UCLA Departments of Medicine
and Health Services in the School of Public Health. Professor
Ettner is the 2001 recipient of the Alice S. Hersch New Investigator
Award by the Academy for Health Services Research and Health
Policy.
Her research interests include reciprocity in the relationship
between health and labor market outcomes, mental health and
substance abuse services, insurance markets and managed care,
chronic disability, post-acute and long-term care. Her current
projects include studies of risk adjustment of behavioral health
care costs and outcomes and the impact of mental and physical
health on labor market outcomes; mediating factors in the SES
and health relationship. She has served on the advisory committees
for UC Institute of Labor and Employment and the UCLA Institute
of Industrial Relations.
