Meaningful exchange between members of the HRM academic and practitioner communities forms the basis of the HARRT Organization. Founded to enhance the practice, teaching and research of human resources management, HARRT is composed of senior level executives in human resources management and professors who are actively teaching and doing scholarly research in their respective disciplines.

Membership in HARRT is by invitation to individuals who have demonstrated their expertise, accomplishment and leadership in the field of human resource management and are committed to advancing the knowledge, strategy and quality of the profession. Members take an active role in developing program topics and participating in Round Table and Retreat discussions, executive panels and living cases, deriving value from this association and the access to privileged information. HARRT members participate in an atmosphere of trust among colleagues to benchmark "best practices" and share "lessons learned" as they make decisions affecting the bottom line performance of their organizations.

HARRT is a unique organization combining the insights of academic scholars and senior executive practitioners to provide perspective and challenge thinking.  By design, the number of members is limited to individuals who can sit around a table comfortably.  Those who are members of HARRT derive value from the collegial atmosphere and latest research from the academic community. HARRT seeks to focus on macro trends and issues which form the context in which both private and public organizations operate as well as HR specific issues and topics. “HARRT is a unique organization composed of senior HR executives and academics that provide executive practitioners with a strategic focus in an ever-changing world.  I value the opportunity to have academics share their recent research and provide high level concepts and models that help frame and make sense of what is happening internally and externally in our organizations.  The broad level perspectives are valuable not only to me but can be shared with our executive team.”

“I look forward to HARRT meetings where high quality speakers engage HARRT executives in a variety of timely HR and business topics.  The Retreat provides an opportunity to form deeper relationships with members, be exposed to broader perspectives that challenge my thinking, and time to reflect on important issues.  I come away recharged with ideas of what to do next. Unlike larger HR organizations, I value the intimacy I experience in HARRT and the trust among members."
